ANOTHER FALL IN ST. COLLEGE

STATE COLLEGE POLICE SAY ALCOHOL IS TO BLAME FOR ANOTHER PERSON FALLING FROM A WINDOW AT A DOWNTOWN FRATERNITY HOUSE. A 19-YEAR OLD WOMAN FELL ABOUT 9 FEET FROM A WINDOW ON PROSPECT AVENUE EARLY SATURDAY MORNING. SHE WAS VERY INTOXICATED AT THE TIME AND LATER CLAIMED SOMEONE PUSHED HER, BUT POLICE DON’T BELIEVE THAT IS TRUE. THE WOMAN WAS TAKEN TO MOUNT NITTANY MEDICAL CENTER FOR INJURIES, INCLUDING MULTIPLE LACERATIONS.
BACK IN OCTOBER, PENN STATE CHEERLEADER PAIGE RAQUE FELL NEARLY 40-FOOT FROM AN APARTMENT WINDOW. SHE SUFFERED CRITICAL INJURIES AND IS STILL RECOVERING.

CAMPUS ASSAULTS

2 RECENT ASSAULTS AT PENN STATE RESIDENCE HALLS. CAMPUS POLICE RECEIVED A REPORT THURSDAY NIGHT INTO FRIDAY MORNING THAT A FEMALE STUDENT WAS SEXUALLY ASSAULTED BY A PERSON SHE KNEW AT POLLOCK/SOUTH HALL. SATURDAY, POLICE GOT ANOTHER REPORT OF AN ASSAULT IN A WEST SIDE RESIDENCE HALL. AGAIN, THE VICTIM KNEW THE SUSPECT. POLICE ARE REMINDING STUDENTS NOT TO WALK ALONE. INSTEAD, YOU CAN CALL FOR A FREE SECURITY ESCORT. ANYONE WITH INFORMATION SHOULD CONTACT UNIVERSITY POLICE AT 863-11-11.

37 YEAR OLD JOSEPH PETRINA OF PITTSBURGH SUFFERED MAJOR INJURIES WHEN HIS VEHICLE STRUCK A TREE EARLY SUNDAY MORNING IN RUSH TOWNSHIP, CENTRE COUNTY. STATE POLICE SAY IT HAPPENED ALONG ROUTE 504. PETRINA HAD TO BE PULLED FROM THE VEHICLE BY FIREFIGHTERS. HE WAS TAKEN TO ALTOONA REGIONAL HEALTH SYSTEM.

IN SOMERSET COUNTY EARLY SUNDAY MORNING, A CRASH LED TO A RUPTURED GAS LINE AND A NEIGHBORHOOD EVACUATION. STATE POLICE SAY TYLER VOUGHT OF BERLIN WAS DRIVING DOWN ROUTE 219 WHEN HE SWERVED TO AVOID HITTING A DEER. HIS VEHICLE HIT A POLE AND A NATURAL GAS LINE. WITHIN 2 HOURS, COLUMBIA GAS CAPPED THE LEAK.

A HORSE SUFFERED MODERATE INJURIES SATURDAY EVENING WHEN A CAR AND A BUGGY COLLIDED ALONG ROUTE 64 IN WALKER TOWNSHIP, CENTRE COUNTY. STATE POLICE SAY 73 YEAR OLD GLENN BROOKS WAS PULLING OUT WHEN HE STRUCK THE BUGGY. THE INVESTIGATION CONTINUES AND CHARGES ARE PENDING.

COUPLE ARRESTED AFTER FIGHT

45 YEAR OLD HEATH LABAR AND 39 YEAR OLD SUSAN NEMITZ OF PORTAGE ARE BOTH CHARGED WITH ASSAULT FOLLOWING A DOMESTIC INCIDENT EARLY YESTERDAY AT THEIR HOME ALONG PURITAN ROAD. STATE POLICE IN CAMBRIA COUNTY S LABAR PULLED A 9MM HANDGUN ON NEMITZ AFTER SHE CUT HIM AND THREW A BEER MUG AT HIS FACE. LABAR IS ALSO CHARGED WITH TERRORISTIC THREATS FOR SAYING “I SHOULD HAVE KILLED YOU YEARS AGO”.

STATE POLICE IN SOMERSET ARE SEARCHING FOR THIEVES WHO STOLE MORE THAN 2-THOUSAND DOLLARS WORTH OF ITEMS FROM SAMUELS LUTHERAN CHURCH IN SOMERSET TOWNSHIP FRIDAY OR SATURDAY. THEY GOT AWAY WITH A PAIR OF SOLID BRASS CANDLEHOLDERS, 2 BRASS CROSSES, A DEHUMIDIFIER AND A GALLON OF COMMUNION WINE.
