ALTOONA POLICE SAY A MUGGER STOLE 200-DOLLARS FROM A WOMAN AS SHE WALKED DOWN AN ALLEY NEAR INVESTMENT SAVINGS BANK ON 8TH AVENUE AT NOON THURSDAY. THE SUSPECT LEFT BEHIND A PAIR OF PINK ADIDAS SNEAKERS …THEN FLED ON A BICYCLE. HE’S DESCRIBED AS A WHITE MALE, 15 TO 18 YEARS OLD, WITH A THIN BUILD, AND LIGHT COLORED HAIR. HE WAS WEARING JEANS AND A DARK HOODED SWEATSHIRT. HIS GETAWAY VEHICLE IS A BLACK AND NEON-GREEN COLORED B-M-X TYPE BIKE.
INVESTIGATION AT STATE PRISON?
LAST WEEK, A FEMALE EMPLOYEE AT THE ROCKVIEW STATE PRISON WAS BRUTALLY SEXUALLY ASSAULTED AND KNOCKED UNCONSCIOUS BY AN INMATE…AND NOW STATE REPRESENTATIVE KERRY BENNINGHOFF is calling for a state investigation. in a letter to GovERNOR Tom Corbett, BENNINGHOFF SAYS THE ASSAILANT HAD A PRIOR SEXUAL ASSAULT CONVICTION AND HE SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN WORKING AROUND A FEMALE EMPLOYEE. THE PRISON AND THE Department of Corrections ARE conducting InvestigationS. According to Benninghoff, tHIS was the 5th assault on staff in the past few months at the prison.
IN CAMBRIA COUNTY COURT YESTERDAY, 2 high-profile TRIALS were postponed until later this year. THE TRIBUNE DEMOCRAT SAYS 50 YEAR OLD GREGORY CONZO OF SUMMERHILL TOWNSHIP WILL STAND TRIAL IN DECEMBER FOR THE DEATH OF MICHAEL PCOLA. POLICE SAY Conzo HAD BEEN DRINKING WHEN HE ARGUED WITH PCOLA LAST NOVEMBER, THEN STRUCK HIM WITH A BASEBALL BAT. PCOLA DIED 2 DAYS LATER. A Judge ALSO DELAYED the case of 45 YEAR OLD Kevin McGee, who IS ACCUSED OF firING one SHOTGUN round into a PARKED POLICE cruiser BACK IN SEPTEMBER. HE WAS THEN shot by a Richland Township officer.

23 YEAR OLD CURTIS MILLER OF Hollidaysburg IS IN THE CAMBRIA COUNTY jail AFTER HIS ARREST THIS WEEK. Northern Cambria POLICE SAY HE BROKE INTO THE home OF A WOMAN HE KNEW LAST FRIDAY OR SATURDAY…RANSACKED THE PLACE…and killed 2 guinea pigs. COPS found a receipt at the scene THEN used surveillance video to identify Miller as a suspect.
NEW DETAILS ABOUT THE DRUG RAID AT J-TOWN FASHIONS IN JOHNSTOWN WEDNESDAY NIGHT. The Cambria County Drug Task Force FOUND 15-THOUSAND DOLLARS WORTH OF SUSPECTED SYNTHETIC MARIJUANA, DRUG PARAPHERNALIA, AND A HANDGUN. THEY ARRESTED THE STORE MANAGER, 45 YEAR OLD CONVICTED FELON JAMES WILLIAMS, WHO IS CURRENTLY ON PAROLE DUE TO PREVIOUS DRUG CONVICTIONS. A PRELIMINARY HEARING IS SCHEDULED WEDNESDAY.

sentencing scheduled today in blair county court for rodney williams of baltimore who was convicted on 9 drug-related offenses for being part of the drug ring operating out of the corner bar and grill in altoona. williams admitted to being the middle man in one cocaine deal that took place in november of 2011, but claims he was not part of the big operation. several other men have already received long prison terms.

THEY ARE POSTED ON THE DAUPHIN COUNTY WEBSITE AND YOU CAN ALSO GET A COPY BY CONTACTING THE HARRISBURG COURTHOUSE. Tuesday, THE ORDERED THE MEN TO STAND TRIAL ON ALL Charges INCLUDING PERJURY, OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE, AND ENDANGERING THE WELFARE OF CHILDREN. Their formal arraignment is SET FOR September 20th, with trial expected as early as March.
IMPEACHING ATTORNEY GENERAL?
STATE SENATOR JOHN EICHELBERGER ADDRESSED SOME BUSINESS PEOPLE FROM BEDFORD COUNTY AND TOLD THEM HE SUPPORTS IMPEACHING STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL KATHLEEN KANE WHO HAS REFUSED TO DEFEND PENNSYLVANIA’S BAN ON SAME-SEX MARRIAGE. GOVERNOR TOM CORBETT HAS SAID HE WILL DEFEND THE STATE IN A LAWSUIT FILED BY THE A-C-L-U. THE ALTOONA MIRROR SAYS EICHELBERGER DOESN’T THINK AN IMPEACHMENT WOULD BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY, SO LAWMAKERS SHOULD REDUCE KANE’S OFFICE FUNDING IN NEXT YEAR’S BUDGET.

AFTER 2 WEEKS OF TESTIMONY, CLOSING ARGUMENTS IN THE PENNSYLVANIA VOTER I-D CASE TOOK PLACE YESTERDAY. ATTORNEYS ARGUING AGAINST THE LAW BELIEVE, IF FULLY ENDORSED, IT WOULD DISENFRANCHISE HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF VOTERS, MANY OF THEM LOW INCOME OR ELDERLY. THOSE IN FAVOR OF THE LAW SAY THEY HAVE DONE ENOUGH TO accommodate EVERYONE, INCLUDING OFFERING A FREE I-D FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF STATE FOR ANY REGISTERED VOTER WITHOUT A DRIVER’S LICENSE OR OTHER FORM OF ACCEPTABLE I-D. IF THE LAW GOES INTO EFFECT, ALL VOTERS WILL BE REQUIRED TO SHOW A VALID PHOTO I-D BEFORE CASTING A BALLOT IN NOVEMBER’S ELECTION.
