State Police IN BLAIR COUNTY SAY KAYAKERS FOUND A MAN’S body IN the Little Juniata River NEAR TYRONE YESTERDAY AFTERNOON. AUTHORITIES think The 28 YEAR OLD was in the water for at least 24 hours AND AN AUTOPSY WILL BE PERFORMED TODAY. TROOPERS don't know where the man entered the river or what he was doing. THE VICTIM’S IDENTITY WILL BE RELEASED AFTER HIS FAMILY IS NOTIFIED.

kenneth leighty of altoona has asked a judge to lower his 250-thousand dollar cash bond. he’s charged with assaulting the police officers who wanted to question him about the 1999 disappearance of his daughter-in-law, sherry. this week, investigators found bones and clothing on leighty’s camp near warriors mark, huntingdon county. he reportedly confessed to his son that he accidentally killed sherry and buried her body. the judge will hold a HEARING to consider the lower bail on may 17th.

IN GREENSBURG TODAY, closing arguments ARE SCHEDULED IN THE TRIPLE MURDER TRIAL OF KEVIN MURPHY OF CONEMAUGH TOWNSHIP, Indiana County. HE TOLD THE JURY YESTERDAY THAT THE 2009 SHOOTING DEATHS OF his mother, sister, and elderly aunt left him so emotionally distraught that when questioned about them he forgot he had a girlfriend. THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY THINKS Murphy KILLED HIS FAMILY BECAUSE THEY DISAPPROVED OF HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH A MARRIED WOMAN.

Police CHASE IN ST. COLLEGE

Police busted 2 people following a high speed CHASE AND CRASH YESTERDAY AFTERNOON IN STATE COLLEGE. 37-year-old Stacy Henry Of Philadelphia and 29-year-old Alicia Gardner Of Bellefonte were ALLEGEDLY selling LARGE AMOUNTS OF heroin out of the BENNER PIKE Econolodge. Police Started chasing them ON North Atherton Street…THEN Henry crashed into a vehicle and flipped his car in A parking lot. Gardner was EJECTED AND Both WERE taken to the hospital. AT LEAST ONE OF THEM WAS FLOWN FROM THE SCENE. Police found 16 bags of heroin, some marijuana, DRUG PARAPHERNALIA, and 8-THOUSAND DOLLARS in cash in their vehicle. Police ALSO HAD ANOTHER WARRANT OUT for Henry FOR possession with intent to distribute.

PENN STATE TRUSTEES MEET TODAY

Penn State’s trustees ARE SCHEDULED TO adopt a set of governance reforms AT TODAY’S MEETING…AND THEN OFFICIALS SAY the university will have reached an 87 percent implementation rate of the recommendations from former FBI director Louis Freeh. 76 of the 119 recommendations will be completed, and 27 are ongoing. TheY include background checks for employees, policies regarding adults having access to minors on campus, and hiring a chief ethics officer. THE RESULTS OF THE ELECTION WILL ALSO BE ANNOUNCED TODAY. 39 CANDIDATES ARE VYING FOR 3 ALUMNI SEATS.

THE 7 LOCATIONS IN THE STATE POLICE TROOP G AREA COLLETED more than 550 pounds WORTH OF PILLS. OVER 742-THOUSAND pounds were TAKEN IN across the country, an increase of 50 percent from THE PREVIOUS YEAR.
