ONE DEAD/ONE INJURED
A DEADLY CRASH SATURDAY MORNING ALONG ROUTE 22 IN BRADY TOWNSHIP, HUNTINGDON COUNTY. STATE POLICE SAY 62 YEAR OLD ORAN WOODWARD SENIOR OF MAPLETON DEPOT COLLIDED HEAD-ON WITH A PICKUP DRIVEN BY 21 YEAR OLD BENJAMIN HOOVER OF WEST NEWTON. HOOVER was flown to Altoona Regional TRAUMA CENTER. TROOPERS HAVE NOT RELEASED ANY MORE INFORMATION.
POLICE CHASE STOLEN TRUCK
state police in huntingdon county arrested 35 year old leonard ellis of mount union Sunday after he allegedly stole a truck tractor from burchifled truck sales in duncansville, blair county, then led police on a 35 mile chase. troopers eventually used stop sticks to stop ellis along piney ridge road in smithfield township. he’s jailed on 100-thousand dollars bail, facing charges including reckless endangerment, receiving stolen property, and fleeing and eluding authorities.
STUDENT ARRESTED FOR BOMB THREAT
a 14 year old boy is facing charges following a threat at fannet metal high school in willow hill. police say the teen told other students that he had planted a bomb in the west wing of the school on friday. the building was evacuated with students being sent to the elementary school. no explosives were found.
KILLER LOSES ANOTHER APPEAL
52 YEAR OLD STEPHEN REX EDMISTON WAS SENTENCED TO DEATH FOR THE 1988 KIDNAPPING, RAPE, AND MURDER OF 2 YEAR OLD BOBBI JO MATTHEW IN CLEARFIELD COUNTY…NOW THE ALTOONA MIRROR REPORTS THAT THE STATE SUPREME COURT HAS REJECTED HIS REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL D-N-A TESTING. THE JUDGES SUGGESTED THAT EDMISTON’S LATEST PETITION WAS ONLY AN ATTEMPT TO DELAY HIS EXECUTION. NO WORD IF HIS LAWYER WILL TRY ANOTHER APPEAL.
NURSE STEALS FROM PATIENT?
THE CENTRE DAILY TIMES REPORTS THAT 25 YEAR OLD STACY MARKLE AND 23 YEAR OLD RYAN MUSSER OF Bellefonte USED HER POSITION AS A CAREGIVER TO STEAL NEARLY 20-THOUSAND DOLLARS FROM A STATE COLLEGE FAMILY. POLICE SAY MARKLE WAS WORKING AS A NURSE IN THE HOME WHEN SHE FOUND A BANK CARD AND PIN NUMBER. Markle and HER BOYFRIEND ARE FREE ON BAIL FACING dozens of felony charges.
