PENN STATE ALTOONA HAZING?

 

A MEMORIAL SERVICE WAS HELD LAST NIGHT AT PENN STATE ALTOONA FOR FRESHMAN MARQUISE BRAHAM WHO COMMITTED SUICIDE IN LONG ISLAND OVER SPRING BREAK. HIS father THINKS hazing WITHIN THE PHI SIGMA KAPPA FRATERNITY WAS TO BLAME. LoGAN TOWNSHIP police Have Braham’s cell phone and computer AS PART OF THEIR INVESTIGATION...And theY’RE ASKING ANYONE WITH INFORMATION TO COME FORWARD.

 

ACCUSED KILLER PLEADS NOT GUILTY

IN CAMBRIA COUNTY COURT YESTERDAY, 20 YEAR OLD Earl Mitchell JUNIOr OF JOHNSTOWN pleaDED not guilty IN THE JANUARY SHOOTING DEATH OF 27 YEAR OLD Jareek Adams. ADAMS’uncle, Jonathon Moore, SAYS THEY WERE WALKING WITH ANOTHER MAN ALONG WAGNER STREET in the Oakhurst Homes AREA WHEN ADAMS SHOOK HANKS WITH MITCHELL WHO THEN OPENED FIRE. Moore was shot multiple times in the head, neck and leg. Mitchell FLED THE SCENE AND WAS arrested after a manhunt in the Washington D.C. AREA. HE REMAINS IN THE COUNTY JAIL.

SENTENCED IN BABY’S DEATH

 

A Somerset County JUDGE YESTERDAY sentenced CODY SCHARTIGER to 4 TO  10 YEARS in prison FOR HIS VOLUNTARY MANSLAUGHTER PLEA IN the AUGUST 2011 death of HIS GIRLFRIEND’S 18 MONTH OLD DAUGHTER, BAILEE SVENUNGSEN. POLICE SAY THE TODDLER WAS SUFFOCATED IN HER CRIB AT THEIR HOME IN URSINA.

BACK IN 2010, Schartiger WAS ARRESTED FOR trYiNG to smother his then-girlfriend's 3-year-old son because the boy wouldn't stop crying. He pleAdED no contest in that case. THE MOTHER pleAdED guilty to endangering the welfare of children in 2012.

 

BABY BURNED

 

FOLLOWING A preliminary hearing, 23 YEAR OLD Earl Saunders OF THE OAKHURST HOMES WILL STAND TRIAL ON CHILD ABUSE CHARGES. johnstown police say he intentionally burned HIS 6 month old DAUGHTER BACK IN FEBRUARY… putting her in the bath tub with scAlding hot water. THE CHILD suffered second degree burns over 20-PERCENT of HER body.

 

SEARCH WARRANT CONTROVERSY

 

Pennsylvania's highest court is blurring the lines on search warrants. The Supreme Court has issued a ruling that police do not necessarily need a warrant to search a vehicle, and can carry out a search based on reasonable probable cause. 

Defense attorneys are calling the ruling an expansion of government power and a step towards eliminating personal privacy and freedom.

 

ARSON INVESTIGATIONS

 

The FIRE THAT SCORCHED ABOUT 1000 ACRES OF WILLS MOUNTAIN NEAR CENTERVILLE IN BEDFORD COUNTY THIS MONTH WAS RULED AN ARSON…AND NOW THE state Bureau of Forestry SAYS a series of 10 wildland fires in Clearfield County WERE ALSO INTENTIONALLY SET. ON APRIL 16TH, the BLAZES scorched a total of 35 acres of private lands near Shiloh, Bradford Township. A WEEKEND BRUSH FIRE NEAR SHADE GAP, HUNTINGDON COUNTY, HAS ALSO BEEN RULED SUSPICIOUS. Information can be forwarded to bureau Special Investigator Terry Smith AT 717-362-14-72.  WE HAVE HAD SOME WET WEATHER THIS WEEK, BUT The Bureau of Forestry IS STILL askING the public to be especially careful with any outside burning.

BOMB THREAT SUSPECTS IDENTIFIED

PHILIPSBURG OSCEOLA SCHOOL DISTRICT SUPERINTENDENT GREGG PALADINA SAYS The suspects in a pair of bomb threats at THE High School THIS MONTH have been identified AND THEY ARE FACING CHARGES. THE SCHOOL WAS EVACUATED APRIL 15TH AND 16TH AFTER notes WERE found in boys’ restrooms. BOMB-SNIFFING DOGS DID NOT FIND ANY EXPLOSIVES. ON APRIL 17TH, A 14 YEAR OLD BOY ALLEGEDLY WROTE A BOMB THREAT AT the middle school. HE was identified immediately and taken into custody.
