JUDGES SAY NO TO SANDUSKY

JERRY SANDUSKY IS NOT GETTING A NEW TRIAL FOLLOWING AN EARLY DECISION WEDNESDAY BY A 3-JUDGE PANEL FROM THE STATE SUPERIOR COURT, WHICH RULED UNANIMOUSLY JUST A LITTLE OVER 2 WEEKS AFTER SANDUSKY’S APPEAL HEARING. THE DEFENSE HAD ARGUED THAT THEY DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH TIME TO PREPARE FOR THE TRIAL AND ALSO CITED SEVERAL OTHER ISSUES. SANDUSKY’S LEGAL TEAM PLANS TO APPEAL TO THE STATE SUPREME COURT WITHIN 30 DAYS.

2 DIE IN ACCIDENT

2 PEOPLE DIED IN A LOGGING ACCIDENT IN MIFFLIN COUNTY YESTERDAY. A CO-WORKER FOUND THE BODIES OF 36 YEAR OLD RANDALL WERT OF NEWVILLE AND 71 YEAR OLD KERMIT WELLS OF NEWBURG AT A WORK SITE NEAR WAKEFIELD ROAD IN OLIVER TOWNSHIP. THE CORONER SAYS THEY DIED FROM BLUNT FORCE TRAUMA AFTER BEING HIT BY A TREE.

WIFE CHARGED IN DEADLY D-U-I

A JOHNSTOWN-AREA WOMAN IS NOW FACING CHARGES OF HOMICIDE BY VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING DRUNK. 35 YEAR OLD MISTY PETRICK’S BLOOD ALCOHOL LEVEL WAS POINT-15 PERCENT ON AUGUST 4TH WHEN HER CAR STRUCK A TREE ALONG EMMITT DRIVE IN WESTMONT. HER HUSBAND, 44 YEAR OLD JAMEY PETRICK, DIED IN THE WRECK. PETRICK IS FREE ON UNSECURED BOND.

MURDER TRIAL TO BEGIN

IN CAMBRIA COUNTY COURT TODAY, JURY SELECTION IS SET TO BEGIN FOR THE MURDER TRIAL OF SHERMAN HOLES OF CHERRY TREE. HE’S CHARGED IN THE 2010 DEATH OF 79 YEAR OLD ARTHUR HENRY WHO WAS FOUND BADLY BEATEN AT HIS NORTHERN CAMBRIA HOME ON JUNE 30TH. HENRY DIED 3 DAYS LATER. INVESTIGATORS USED NEW D-N-A TESTING TO IDENTIFY BLOOD ON A 2-BY-4 WHICH WAS THE MURDER WEAPON.

2-POINT-5 BILLION DOLLAR TRANSPORTATION LEGISLATION
