19 YEAR OLD COLLIN JOHNSON OF ALTOONA IS REPORTED IN STABLE CONDITION AFTER A HIT AND RUN TUESDAY AFTERNOON ALONG EAST PLEASANT VALLEY BOULEVARD IN THE GREENWOOD SECTION OF TOWN. POLICE ARRESTED 50 YEAR OLD PAUL WEATHERWALK OF ALTOONA AT HIS HOME ABOUT AN HOUR LATER. WITNESSES SAY IT LOOKED LIKE WEATHERWALK WAS GOING THE SPEED LIMIT AT THE TIME OF IMPACT, BUT HE APPEARED TO SPEED UP AS HE FLED THE SCENE, HITTING A MAIL BOX AND A SPEED LIMIT SIGN.

ONE INMATE KILLS ANOTHER

An inmate at THE State PRISON AT Houtzdale died Sunday AND HIS CELLMATE IS FACING CHARGES. STATE POLICE SAY 59 YEAR OLD WILLIAM KEITEL WAS ASSAULTED BY A 43 YEAR OLD MALE back on august 2nd. Keitel died at UPMC-ALTOONA.

Centre County’S WILLOWBANK office building WAS EVACUATED FOR ABOUT 45 MINUTES YESTERDAY MORNING after a possible suspicious package was delivered. the package was addressed to the domestic relations department and HAD Wires sticking out, BUT it TURNED OUT to be a plaque that had some wires THAT BECAME UNATTACHED. Bellefonte police and emergency personnel were called and a local bomb squad was notified, but did not respond.

ALTOONA Police say they found hundreds of cockroaches AND OTHER BUGS IN A FILTHY HOME at 411 22nd Street LAST WEEK AND NOW JENNINA PRATT IS CHARGED WITH ENDANGERING THE WELFARE OF HER 5 children. SHE IS IN THE BLAIR COUNTY JAIL WITH A PRELIMINARY HEARING SCHEDULED TODAY. some of the KIDS had bite marks on their legs AND POLICE ALSO FOUND A MALNOURISHED DOG OUTSIDE THE HOME.

STATE DRUG AGENTS ARRESTED CLINTON MICKENS JUNIOR OF JOHNSTOWN YESTERDAY AFTER MAKING A CONTROLLED HEROIN BUY ON THE 17-HUNDRED BLOCK OF 7TH AVENUE IN ALTOONA. MICKENS ALSO FACES CHARGES FOR DELIVERING 50 BAGS OF HEROIN INTO THE ALTOONA AREA BACK IN MARCH. HE WAS ALREADY ON PAROLE FOR A DRUG CONVICTION.

CENTRE COUNTY AUTHORITIES AND AGENTS FROM THE ATTORNEY GENERAL’S NARCOTICS BUREAU DISMANTLED a suspected meth lab AT A HOME ON CHERRY RIDGE ROAD IN THE PARK FOREST AREA OF STATE COLLEGE LAST evening. at least one ArrEST WAS MADE.

ALTOONA DR. ZANE GATES WAS ON HAND YESTERDAY AS Governor Tom Corbett ceremonially signed A Senate Bill which provides 4 million DOLLARS to fund community health centers, LIKE GATES’ CLINIC, and additional medical services in rural and underserved areas of the state. This includes facilities such as non-profit certified rural health centers, free or partial-pay health clinics, nurse-managed health clinics, non-profit hospital health clinics, AND Federally Qualified Health Centers. The grants, distributed by the Pennsylvania Department of Health, require a matching commitmEnt.

DUE TO THE NCAA SANCTIONS, Penn State IS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR BOWL GAMES. the Athletics Department RECENTLY sent an email to current season ticket holders, offering a new incentive for purchasing tickets.
