2 DIE IN HOUSE FIRE

2 PEOPLE ARE DEAD FOLLOWING A HOUSE FIRE ABOUT 2:40 TUESDAY MORNING IN CLEARFIELD COUNTY. State Police SAY 59 YEAR OLD DEBORAH PETERS AND 61 YEAR OLD RANDALL PETERS DIED WHEN THEIR HOME CAUGHT FIRE ALonG Skinner Lane in CURWENSVILLE. The cause of the BLAZE remains under investigation.

VEHICLES CRASH/5 HOSPITALIZED

4 PEOPLE WERE TAKEN TO ALTOONA REGIONAL TRAUMA CENTER AND ONE WAS FLOWN TO A PITTSBURGH HOSPITAL Tuesday morning after 2 vehicles cOLLIDed in front of THE ALTOONA Junior High School. Police SAY aN S-U-V AND A MINI-VAN MAY HAVE BEEN CHASING EACH OTHER WHEN THE BLAZER hit a small wall and THE van crashED near gas lines at the intersection OF 7TH AVENUE AND 13th Street. POLICE ARE STILL INVESTIGATING AND NO NAMES HAVE BEEN RELEASED.

ARRESTED AGAIN, RIGHT BEFORE SENTENCING

A CENTRE COUNTY JUDGE YESTERDAY SENTENCED 29-year-old KEVIN SHERLOCK OF State College to UP TO 5 years in A state prison for putting a 6 MONTH OLD CHILD at risk during a domestic altercation in a moving car. LAST YEAR, SHERLOCK ARUGED WITH A WOMAN WHILE SHE WAS DRIVING. HE TRIED TO GRAB THE KEYS FROM THE IGNITION AND STRUGGLED WITH THE VICTIM. She was eventually able to pull over and flee with the BABY. JUST HOURS BEFORE SENTENCING, Sherlock waS arrested in a separate case after allegedly STRANGLING, PUNCHING, AND SLAMMING THE HEAD OF another woman ON THE GROUND at a home in Patton Township.

4 PLEAD GUILTY TO ANIMAL CRUELTY

IN LEWISTOWN, Cody Ritter, Dustin Fetters, Karissa Walters, and Shawnee Strawser HAVE ALL PLEADED GUILTY TO animal cruelty CHARGES. POLICE SAY RITTER AND FETTERS HAD 2 GERMAN SHEPHERD MIX PUPPIES THAT BELONGED TO THE 2 WOMEN…AND THEY REPEATEDLY DROPPED THEM 25 FEET OFF THE STONE ARCH BRIDGE INTO THE WATER BELOW. All 4 WILL face fines and up to 50 hours of community service. THEY HAVE BEEN BARRED FROM OWNING DOGS FOR 90 DAYS, WHICH IS THE STIFFEST SENTENCE THE JUDGE COULD HAND DOWN. The dogs…CAGNEY & LACEY…WILL STAY with an animal rescue organization until they get adopted.

THE ALTOONA AREA SCHOOL BOARD MEETS TONIGHT at 6:45 TO HEAR A REPORT ON THE INVESTIGATION INTO TENS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS WORTH OF SALARY INCREASES THAT MAY, OR MAY NOT, HAVE BEEN GIVEN WITHOUT BOARD APPROVAL THROUGH THE SUPERINTENDENT’S OFFICE. RETIRING SUPERINTENDENT DENNIS MURRAY HAS BEEN ON PAID administrative or medical LEAVE SINCE MARCH. tonight’s meeting is at the junior high auditorium.
